ABDC History

Here is the thing. I don't watch television on televsion. I'm sure a lot of kids my age are like that. The only time I'm actually watching my TV is when my comp is on the fritz and I can't get to the computer lab. So though these posts will be weekly, they may not directly correspond to the date the show was aired.

For the first blog i thought it would be best to give a little history.

America's Best Dance Crew(ABDC) features street dance crews from around the United States. The show is produced by American Idol judge Randy Jackson.

The show is hosted by former teen actor, two-time game show host, and Dancing with the Stars runner-up, Mario Lopez. (Yes that's all that's on Mario Lopez's resume). The show also features television personality, Layla Kayleigh as the backstage correspondent.( if anyone can tell me what her purpose is please let me know) The original judge line up was emmy nominated Shane Sparks ( choreographed Dream Girls on Broadway) , Lil Mama (her lip gloss is popping), and JC Chaze (the other nsyncer). For the fifth season, however, Omorion (from B2K) replaced Shane Sparks. Why? Cause Shane is staring in the new movie " Mr. Sparks plays Lick off the Honey with Lil Jane." yeah that's right, Shane is a kid diddler. Here's some more info.

The most famous crew to come from ABDC is the Jabberwockeez. Known for their use of masks during performances, the Jabberwockeez are arguably the best because of their ability to work as a unit in order to tell a story. No stunts required; this is an imagination crew. During their stint on the first season, the Jabberwockeez were known for their outstanding use of transformations, and starting a new piece where the last piece finished. In my opinion their best performance was the Broadway challenge when they transformed into a jazz band for "All that Jazz" from the musical Chicago. Click here to watch the performance.

Another kick ass crew from ABDC was Beatfreakz. I haven't the slightest idea why these chicks didn't win. Click here to see why I'm flabbergasted. Not convinced how's about this one. Yes that's right chica just put on her effing sunglasses while in the middle of a headspin. Why the hell did they lose?

There were other noteworthy crews as well, but none compare to these two. So as i watch the fifth Season of ABDC I'm going to use Jabberwockeez and Beatfreakz as my standard. I expect nothing less then for the new line up to be better then the best.
